Welcome to Gallipoli 2015!
Mat McLachlan Battlefield Tours is Australia’s leading battlefield tour company and offers options for all travellers to Gallipoli.
Now that the 100th Anniversary of Anzac Day has past, there is one more major event in 2015 that is equally as important. The battles of Lone Pine and the Nek are two of the most famous and tragic in the history of Australian warfare. The battle at Lone Pine saw some of the fiercest fighting of the Gallipoli campaign and over four days Australia suffered more than 2,000 casualties with seven Australians being awarded the Victoria Cross for their bravery.
Join us on this unique tour (click here) and stand on the ground where these epic encounters took place - on the centenary of both battles including Attendance at the commemorative services.
This 9 day tour will be accompanied by some of the best historians personally picked by myself. The tour will be a mixture of interesting stories and people, memorable times and sombre events. And the last opportunity to be at Gallipoli on this centenary anniversary to help commemorate the contribution of more than 50,000 Australians who served during the eight-month campaign and the 8,700 who died.
I have been visiting Australia’s battlefields for almost 2 decades and no battlefield has moved me more than Gallipoli. It’s a battlefield that has hardly changed in the last 100 years – you can still hear the ghosts of the Diggers in every valley
I look forward to welcoming you on one of our Battlefield Tours in the future.
